Couple of Ideas to Promote Good Looks of Site and Increase of Members

1. Get a Layout. If you don't have any on hand, there are hundreds of layout generators on the internet as a substitute until we can get an artist (see four)
2. Get user bars for anyone who wants to advertise. This will promote people advertising in their sigs/ where ever else they go. I already requested some at Serebii, but it would be a lot better if we could have an artist make them (see four).
3. Remove the advertising, or at least change it to a more reliable source. The square that appears in peoples Profiles can be inappropriate and offensive, and the top rectangle sometimes advertises obvious scam sites.
4. If someone in here is very talented at art and willing to do lots of it, have them make user bars (see two), Layouts (see one), and official art. If none are ready to do that, recruit 1-4 people to do it. Heck, recruit them anyway.
5. Set up a Paypal account and a donation jar. The money can eventually be used to upgrade the server or buy us some advertising for a short time.

I'm hoping to get vBulliten or something like that.
I can change the layout though, and I can make you an admin and you'll be able to see them all stuff Very Happy

That'd be good. Also if we set up some more forums maybe, like general discussion, music discussion, gaming discussion, all that stuff =)

Err... could someone else handle #5? I really won't be able to get it handled right. On making me an admin, I don't care either way, but if I am made one, I'll still mainly handle the competitive forums.

because i have layout choices and color choices for those layouts?
the layout we have now is the least confusing but yes, it is to simple.
Should i change the color?

Layout isn't very good. Get a light background color, and then revolve the layout around a darker shade of that color.

Just asked some people to join today. Hopefully I can get a response in the next few days.

how about trying to be a partner to another forum that has made a name for its self. i.e we can advertise there, they can advertise here?

^You mean try for affiliation? Possibly... But the site (it wouldn't need to nessecarily be a forum) probably wouldn't accept us ATM if they had a member list of over 100. As an added bonus, if we post it as a link, search engines like google tend to pick up on stuff like that if the linked site is a pokemon site, and we go higher on the relevance list.

I wasen't sure of the correct term but along those sort of lines. Forums i have been part of in the past of done similar things. Not heard of the google one before but would also be a good thing to look into

It says paintings, drawings, sprites, and backgrounds.
Not sure if you can post graphics or not :/
